Cameron McCormick has been the Director of Instruction at Brook Hollow Golf Club in Dallas, Texas for 11 years. He began teaching in his native Australia in 1998 before moving to Texas in 2000. In 2007, he was selected as the Northern Texas PGA Teacher of the Year and in 2015 was named American PGA Teacher of the Year and voted in Golf Magazines Top 100 Teachers in 2015.
Cameron has competed at the collegiate, amateur and professional levels integrating biomechanics, motor learning and psychology into his teaching, utilizing TrackMan and other technology to provide direction and feedback. It reflects an analytic way of thinking that arose early in his career where he honed his teaching skills under the tutelage and coaching principals from the Victorian Institute of Sport.
His students cover the gamut including two time major winner and world no.1 Jordan Spieth. In addition to Spieth, McCormick has taught a wide range of ranked golfers from the PGA Tour, LPGA and amateur circuits, including Nathan Green (Winner of the 2009 Canadian Open), Mina Harigae (LPGA), Austin Connelly (Amateur, No. 17) and Will Zalatoris (2014 U.S. Junior Amateur Champion). Six of the current top 75 ranked juniors in the United States also work with McCormick, including 2015 U.S. Junior Amateur Champion Philip Barbaree.
